    Protein does not convert to lipids. Protein is a chain of amino acids, lipids is a chain of carbons and hydrogens.

    They doesn't serve as insulation *against* environmental heat, fatty tissue serves to aid in avoiding heat loss

    Lipids include sterols which are precursors to many vitamins

    Lipids are stored in the liver
