When do D2 schools usually have walk on days?

Question

Do walk on (Try outs) for a college football team usually start during summer or at the beginning of school? Anyones experience is welcomed.

Well, the D2 school I play RB at has the walk-on days during late summer and continues on through the first week of school. But I got in through a scholarship.

My local D2 does.  And they are one of the best D2's in the nation.
