Question:

When do I get paid dividends from a company I have stocks in?

I know that companies may pay dividends monthly, quarterly (the most common), bi-annual, yearly, or not a all.

But, the company that I had stock in a while back did not pay me dividends.

What gives? Thanks in advance for any answers.

  1. some don't have dividends, and sometimes dividends are cut.

  2. Dividends are not guaranteed; they come out of the profits. Check on the company's website to see if dividends were paid or not in a particular period. If the stock is in your broker's nominee account the dividend may be sitting on your account with them.
