Question:

When do I let my baby frogs free?

I have a pool outside full of tadpoles. I feed them everyday and now they are finally turning into little bitty frogs. VERY TINY. But they are coming out of the pool and hoping away. However, they are SO TINY.. are they ready to be on there own? Or should I put them back in the pool when I see them? I am afraid they will drown if they stay in the pool with the tadpoles. I do have some rocks that stick up so they can get out of the water. Do I leave the baby frogs in there longer or just let them leave when they are ready? Since they are so very small, will they be eaten by preditors? Most of them are tree frogs. I have pictures of them also if someone needs to see what they look like.

  1. hey let them go.frogs have survived for milliner without your help.

  2. They are ready to go as soon as they begin to leave on their own. Being treefrogs, trying to force them to stay aquatic will be bad for them (as you already seem to get).

Sadly, a lot of them will be eaten by predators. That is just nature. That is why frogs have so very many babies at once. You just have to let them go on their way to take their chances just like their parents did.

Don't worry, there will be more tadpoles next year. :)
