When do I start applying for a cruise job if I want to work in August, 2007?

I live in Canada and my friend and I would like to start work on a cruise ship in August. When would be a good time to start applying? Any good web sites for Canadian resident's to look for cruise work? Also, what are the chances my friend and I could start work on the same ship and share a cabin?

All cruise employment contracts are for 6 months at a time so November or December at the latest although it may be too late for you for this summer.  It doesnt hurt to try though. Good luck!

It is always possible for you both to get posted to the same ship and share a cabin if one is available, as long as you and your "friend" are not married. That is strictly frowned upon according to a former cruise director I know.

Dont do NCL(Norwegian Cruiseline) as they suck for training and dont treat their staff well.

Not sure about the rooming part, just add that comment to your application crossreferencing your friends name.
