When do I start counting for my periord so I can start charting for ovulation?

When I start my period again my doctor gave me a prescription for clomiphene and he told to start taking on cycle day 5. Do I start counting from the day 1 start spotting or when I start getting heavy? Thank you very much!

The first time you see blood is day one.

first day of period = cycle day 1.. start counting on the first day you see blood.
