  1. There will recruiter will tell them when there signing there contract.  Least thats how it worked for the airforce.

  2. Ok, this is the deal, look up Navy Seal Challenge on the net, that will direct you to a recruiter and they will get you going into the program. Right now, once you sign on they will test you for the ASVAB and give you the SEAL PST, once you pass that they will put into Active Duty and you will go to boot camp but your boot camp class will be ALL Diver, SEAL and EOD candidates, this allows for extra attention for PT and other things. Once thru boot, you will go to what is called the Naval Special Warfare Prepratory School, also at Great Lakes. It is a brand new program to prep kids before they go to BUD/S, you will be at that school for at least 10 weeks and get training on a lot of the things you will see at BUD/S, a lot more PT, etc...this is in order to better prepare you to get thru BUD/S since after quitting the next two biggest reasons for BUD/S failure is either Medical Drop or Performance Drop. Once you get thru that you will go to BUD/S, then you will be at that for 26 weeks, then go to SQT, SERE and HALO for six months after that and then go to your team, your work up will be a year and a half and then you will deploy for 6 months to whatever spot your supposed to go to. Basically, you will be in training for almost 3 years before you even deploy and that is if you make it thru.

Edit-sorry, if your talking about for Boot Camp as the first part after they sign up, it depends really on the DEP they signed up for.

  3. When the contract says their suppose to report?

You dont enlist into the Navy and get a "seal contract". It just doesnt work like that. You need to have a job before you can contribute to a seal "team".You have to be an E-5 before you can even apply to USSOC. Perhaps someone lied to you and they joined as a cook but their too embarrassed to admit it. Things that make ya go hmm!

  4. If they just got their contract and they pre-qualified and everything(meaning they pasted thier PST and everything) They will probably shipout within 6-10 months depending on what kind of waviers they got or what other circumstances they we're in. look on the contract its got the exact date. and just to clear things up a bit you can get a "SEAL contract" its a guaranteed chance to try out for BUD/S,, given that you pass they even have a new rate "SO" for SEAL Operator.

also if you score really good on your PSTs you may get rolled in early
