When do US high school students go back to school?

Question

Summer is just about over in the states right? Or maybe it's already over for some. I just need to know, that is if your still a student, when do your classes start back up? Have they already started?

I'm referring to high school and Elementary students. :]

it depends on the school district. my school starts sept. 3rd. and im going into hs

most start in late august or early september. generally speaking, everyone 's back in school after labor day, which is this monday. :)

though my friend goes to year-round school... which is another monster entirely... though i don't think that's very common.

well it depends on where you live. i go back on the 2nd

It usually depends on the part of the country you live in.  For example, here in the South (Georgia) students go back to school in August.  Whereas, in the West (California) and Northeastern states (PA, NY, NJ) they go back in September (next week).
