Do you add the veggies, and let them cook all day with the meat (I find my potatoes suck in all the flavor, which I dont really like), or do you add them in to the end, until they get soft?

  1. Add the veggies then a little salt/pepper/etc if you want, then cook it for about an hour and 20 minutes. then wala!! there you go!

  2. veggies only need an hour in slow cooker

i stew meat all day in liquid with onions and garlice then add carrots potato and sometime celery an hour before serving

they stay nice and firm and dotn soak up al the liquid

  3. I put the carrots, onion and celery in at the begining.  The bigger the peices when you put them in, the better they last through the day of cooking.  As for the potatoes, I stopped putting them in because they would cook so much and just like yours, soak up all the flavor.  I know make mashed potatoes.

  4. I don't like overcooked veggies, so always at the end.  Root veggies like potatoes and carrots do take a bit longer than say, beans, so I do put them all in at different times.  Guess it depends on the texture you're looking for :)
