  1. I watched a documentary, and I believe it said around 24 months.

    (Although I could be mistaken)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure around 2 years. =]

  2. 2 years of age!!

  3. My 3 year old still refuses to believe the kid in the mirror is him, or even when he looks at pictures of himself. Where ever I ask "Who is that?" he says "baby". Then of course i tell him he's silly & I say "that's you" and he says "you!!"

My youngest laughs at the baby in the mirror....he also laughs at that baby's mommy too!! He'll be 9 months old in 5 days.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that if I give Riley a hand-held mirror, he tries to eat that baby he sees!!

  4. My daughter is 13 months, and she knows.  She smiles when I ask her who the pretty baby is and looks at me.

  5. This begins to occur from the age of about 2, in Piaget's Pre-Operational Stage (the second in his theory of cognitive development included 4 stages). This stage usually begins with the child still behaving in an egocentric way - they believe others have the same viewpoint as them and this gradually changes to a difficulty in considering the viewpoints of others. In the next stage, by the age of 7, they can learn this.

  6. My daughter is 10 months and she still thinks it's another baby.  She offers her the dummy, lol!

  7. idk, but my 5 month old godbaby gets a kick out of playin with herself in the mirror. it's great b/c for at least 5-10minutes she's not crying about something

  8. I would say around 16 months, just because that is when my son realized he was looking at himself in the mirror.  It was the funniest thing ever.  Before he would walk to the mirror and say baby.  However this day, he walked to the mirror and looked and me, then looked back in the mirror, then looked at the picture of himself of the fireplace and looked in the mirror and said 'me'.  I told him yes, that is you.  Well everyday he has to go give 'me' a kiss.

  9. I heard it is 2 years but apparently there is a lot of variation because my daughter definitely realized by 13 months, when she saw a bow in her hair in a mirror and grabbed at it.

  10. Our son is 11 months old and he'll wave to the mirror me, turn around and point to me, wave at himself in the mirror, then turn around to see that I see him pointing at the real him.
