  1. No one Has to go to preschool.  If you are a stay home Mommy you can teach him everything he'd learn there and it will also build the bond you have by him being with you everyday.

If he goes to a sitter anyways it wouldn't hurt to send him to preschool.

Age 5 is how old you have to be to start kindergarten but there are different cut off dates.  If your child has a summer birthday the school might recommend him going into developmental kindergarten which is ok.

    Good luck.

  2. Currently no states mandate preschool and some don't require Kindergarten. Look on line for the mandatory age in your state since they vary.

  3. no, he doesn't have to go to preschool...just kindergarten when he's 5 :)

  4. In australia, pre-school and kindergarton are not compulsary however everyone gets one year of funded 4yr old kinder per child. Its to encourage parents to send their children as it really helps prepare them for school. To enrol in 4yr old kinder, the child must have turned 4 by the 30th april on the kinder year. All children must be enrolled in primary school by the time they are 7yrs. My son's birthday is in april and he will be attending primary school the year he turns 6. He is starting kinder next year when he will be 4 going on 5.

  5. You don't HAVE to put your child in school or register him as being home schooled until age 8. It is perfectly fine to wait for kindergarten.

  6. He doesn't have to go to preschool, but it might help the trantion of going to school if he went to preschool a couple hours a week.   Around where I live a lot of the local daycare centers offer preschool for children that age for a couple of hours during the day

  7. Preschool is optional.

Kindergarten is when they offically HAVE to start school.Depending on their birthday they will start kindergarten at age 5(or if their birthday falls too late in the year they will start at age 6)

personally unless the highschools have Preschool programs like they did when I was younger I won't be starting my girls in school until kindergarten...I just do not have the money they want to send them to preschool(and plus my youngest is ALMOST 4 and she knows pretty much everything they will teach in preschool) Its not that I do not want them going because it would be great if I could afford it but I can't...so I'll just stick to teaching them as much as I can by myself until Kindergarten starts
