  1. depending on where in northern it runs between June-September

  2. countries in the northern hemisphere have summer from march to July(which is when the tropic of cancer has the sun directly overhead it). yes, all countries in the southern hemisphere have summer from dec-feb. However, all places will have different temperatures, mild or harsh.

  3. First day of summer for countries north of the Equator is June 21. This lasts until Sept 21 because on Sept 22 we  are having the first day of the fall season.

Southern Hemisphere starts summer on Dec 21/08

Our first day of winter (Dec. 21 ) is the southern hemisphere's first day of summer. Their summer will last until the season changes on March 20.

  4. Except for the "inter tropic" zone, which has no real summer and winter, when it is summer in the NH it is winter in the SH. So, it is now entering summer north of the Tropic of Cancer and entering winter south of the Tropic of Capricorn.

A question that may arise is "When do the various seasons start/finish? There is no definite answer to this, however some take it to be 1st June, 1st Sept, 1st Dec and 1st March.whilst others take it to be on the solstices and equinoxes. You can take your pick.

  5. summer occurs from june 20 to september 21 and yes basically summer in the southern hemisphere occurs in that time frame. summers are usually more severe in the southern hemisphere due to the earth being nearer the sun at that time.
