  1. hiya another aussie here

My work in notoriously late for everything!!! They actually sent out a memo on july 1st saying that they would have the PAYG summaries out by the 14th of July as this is when they legally had to have them out by.  Not sure if it's right though so maybe call up the ATO and ask them, they will defiantly be able to give you a more definite answeh

  2. No she is not legally allowed to wait that long.  As an employer, she needs to have all of her PAYG summaries lodged with the Australian Taxation Office by 14 August, so she's already gone passed that date.

When an employee requests a copy of their PAYG summary, it must be provided to them within 14 days of their request.

  3. The employer needs to issue those PAYG Payment Summary by 14 July. Your partner needs to lodge his/her tax return by 31 October (if DIY) or could be later (15 May 2009 could be the due date if do it using registered tax agent).

If still no PAYG Payment Summary until then, your partner is allowed to use Statutory Declarations when completing the tax return. http://www.ato.gov.au/content/downloads/...

In the meantime, just dob these people to the ATO. Serve them right.

  4. Hi well this employer is abusing the Tax system and is in breach of her legal obligations...bigtime mind u also..

Everyone is entitled to recieve PAYG Group Certificates no later than 2nd -3rd week in July.

Ur partner has until no later than October 1 or sooner to lodge return otherwise he will be fined

He needs to demand that his Group Certificate is issued now...ATO would find this case a cause to audit her company...OK ♥
