When do firemouth cichlids reach sexual maturity?

i was just wondering because i have a male and female in my 55 gallon with a pleco. and if they spawn will a bubble maker disturb the process? and i have a clean peice of slate for them to lay the eggs on. i will add more information in the additional details. (if you need them) i just want to know when they reach there sexual maturity

firemouth are as easy to breed as convict cichlids. It really is not about the age, it is more about the water quality and room they have. I have them breeding when they are 3 inches long at about 6 months old to 6 inches long at a year and a half. it all depends on water quality, temp, size tank. If they are larger fish and are not breeding try adding another female of the same size into the tank. I always have at least 2 females with every male. Just remember to take the female that is not breeding out of the tank as soon as the other 2 start their mating ritual or they will kill her.
