When do horse chestnut trees get conkers?

When I was little I planted a conker in my garden - now we have a lovely horse chestnut tree. The tree must be about 10 years old by now - when can we expect conkers? The tree hasn't had any flowers this year or any year so far...

Wow!  i never thought about planting one of those conkers.  They have some of those trees growing around the school.  Im going to plant one too.  Unfortunately I dont know how long it takes before they start making the conkers.

Because the "conkers" are the seeds, and seeds are produced in fruits and the fruits develop from flowers -- well, the answer is that you need to have flowers first.

Blooming age for trees can vary quite a bit with environmental factors like soil nutrient ratios and amount of sunlight. -- so there's really no good way to guess for a particular tree.  I'd expect within 15  years or so for most species of horse chestnut.
