When do i receive my I-765 biometrics appointment?

Question

I got my notice that USCIS had received my I-765, I-140 and I-485 forms 6 weeks ago.

1) How long should I wait for the biometric appointment notice?

2) Is it OK that it takes them more than a month to process the documents?

3) What is the average processing time?

Please, help me with this! :)

Well. It all depends on the case I guess: whether you submitted as an individual or together with a partner/spouse, or if you lost your legal status in the country and all that.

But usually it takes about 3 months to get the EAD itself.

As far as I know they've started to process the whole "permanent resident" cases much faster. It takes them about 5 months to issue the green card.

But again - it all depends on the case itself and on how your local USCIS office is busy (regarding the EAD).

I guess it is different for everyone.  I applied for my greencard in Dec 07 and within 1 week had a receipt, a week later came the biometrics appt for Jan 4, 2008.  Advance parole and employment permit followed at the end of Jan, Interview was beg of Apr and green card arrived 2-3 weeks later.  SO i filed Dec 7, 2007 and had the green card by the end of April 2008 - about 5 months from start to finish.

it all depends on how busy your local USCIS office is. you just have to be patient with the whole process.

By immigration law, USCIS will make decision on EAD no later than 90 days fro the Receipt Date.

1) from 1-2 months

2) It is totally ok to wait until 3 months just for I-765.

3) Based on your EB category and PD. Somewhere from 2 years to 8 years.
