When do i take out the male hamster

Is it a Syrian? Take it out NOW. The male will EAT the babies when they are born. Or, the male will try to mate with the female again right after she gives birth! The female might also try to kill the male while she is pregnant, because females are more territorial.

If it is a Dwarf, then you can leave him in there. He'll help the female with the babies when they are born.

If it's a Syrian, take him out now. If it is a dwarf hamster you could leave him in for a little bit longer but, take him out closer to the birth. Male hamsters just tend to get in the way of the female. It will be in her instinct to look after, rear and protect her babies so the male will probably annoy her.
