  1. Ou with a grave accent is "where", ou without an accent is "or".

    Use "qui" when it's the subject of the verb (qui est ce monsieur?), "que" when it's not (le livre que je lisais).

    Use "dont" for the sense of "of which" (things) or "of whom" (people), as in "le monsieur dont je vous parle".


  2. que - multiple uses eg as an adverb, preposition, etc, eg plus lourd que (heavier than)

    qui - who - as in "qui est-ce?" (who is this?)

    dont - whose, or "of which" - eg "pour voitures dont le poids" (for cars which weigh...."

    ou - where - eg "ou est la plage?" (where is the beach?"
