  1. Columbines bloom in late spring into early summer.  Most last a few weeks though the yellow ones last longer.  Planting time is whenever you find them in the nursery as they come container grown.  The exception would be don't plant in summer's heat. Spring or fall would be better.  They are not long lived plants...a few years if you are lucky, but most will reseed unless your summers are too hot.

  2. Most of them bloom in May and early June but if you cut them completely down after flowering you will probably get another flowering, otherwise leave them to seed themselves as you can get some lovely different colours.

  3. Columbines (Grannies Bonnets) bloom in May they will self seed and need no real looking after (only usual weeding) you can collect the black shiny seeds from the seed pods (make sure the seed pod has dried on the stem) that develop after the flower has died, to sow in special places, it is said that once you plant a grannies bonnet they will be with you forever, (and it's true!)

  4. I would say the first day of august, i have many of these in my field, and their just do die for tehe, sometimes, wen im lonely i go outside and make love to the plants, sometimes the bee's

  5. They bloom in the spring for a few weeks and reseed easily.  I always have 6-7 news ones the following year.
