  2. I started playing for my school team for volleyball in 6th grade. It takes a lot of practice to really advance in this sport, but I guess if you're a natural athlete then I wouldn't start a day later than freshman year. If you're planning on trying out, you should stick to a workout plan and get a lot of practice under your belt because high school is when sports start to become much more serious. Even though you have no experience, you should still tryout because this gives the coaches to get to know you. If you don't make it, keep practicing and then when you tryout next year, the coaches will remember you. If you've kept up the work and have developed the skills you need, then you'll probably make it! Another thing I would suggest is to tryout for a traveling team or a community team. Typically, these teams play year round so this will give you an even bigger advantage. Hope this helps :)

  3. I started three years ago and i was in middle school. you wont be the best at first, but as long as you dont give up, you can catch up to everyone else.

  4. i learned to play in gr.4

  5. You don't get taller by playing volleyball.

And I learned how to play when I was like 10.

  7. i started to learn to play volleyball in the 7th grade

  8. Just start playing. You seem to have motivation enough to learn. Good luck!

  9. its different for different kids it matters how much cordination you have I started playing in 3rd grade.

  10. Middle school, but you can get into it whenever i figure. just dont expect much from it if youre in High school

  11. Highschool ; freshman year or sophomore  (=

  12. Most people start any sports young, but I started in 9th grade and after you learn everything thing, it gets easier from there, volleyball doesn't have too many things to learn.

  13. I would say between the ages 12 - Adult. I learned when I was almost 12 though. I love volleyball and I wasnt always the best at it. Practice makes perfect!

  14. Most middle schoolers learn first. I learned to play at the end of 7th grade. I'm entering 8th grade this year and I made the team. I've just been playing about 4 months. But you need to practice! People who have no experience will pick it up in a matter weeks if they practice every day- all the time! Overhand serving may take while because I can overhand serve like 60 percent of the time...so also work on that a lot.

  15. high school...unless you live by the beach in So.Cal  they play there all the time

  16. well most people start when they're in 6th 7th or 8th grade.

  17. where i live we dont have middle school volleyball so we all start playing in high school.. if you are in middle school and have a team go for it! but if you do and didnt play dont stress, just practice and practice and good luck with the team.

  18. join. its never to late to try.

some people start later then others.

I started in 2nd grade going to volleyball camps around the area.

  19. I live in New Jersey, a crappy place to play volleyball because its soo behind. But I joined an awesome club and have been doing clinics there since I was like 11, and started to play on a team when I was 13. I would have started earlier, I've always liked volleyball but there weren't any local places to go. I mean I already have to drive like 35 mins to my club (my parents drive btw)

My middle school didnt have a volleyball team unfortunately, so yeah. I'm so hyped for high school! tryouts in 2 days! EEEEK!

  20. pe in elementry, my sister started playing in 5th or 6th grade, with no experience

  21. Try and find a team..tell the coach what you want to achieve. Then they can let you know what it will take for you to make the team. With some determination and perseverance there's nothing you can't achieve no matter how late in the day it is. Go for it and good luck..think positive the world is your oyster.

  22. I learned to play in elementary school, but its never too late to learn a sport! The coach will understand and help you get better. Thats what he/she is there for

  23. Most people on my team and in my league have been playing for several years, starting in middle school. Keep in mind, it's not required, but it;s a good idea to start out early.

I didn't start until freshman year, and with lots of hard work and practice, i made varsity libero, and have been ranked as first team defense in several state tournaments. It takes a lot of hard work to get good, not everyone is able to play, but it's worth all the sweat and pain. (oh trust me, there will be pain,)
