I was told their resignations were due April 31, 2008. She told me to expect a call after that. Is it too soon? I just graduated Saturday, but many of my classmates are already getting jobs. If you could just let me know when I might expect a call, that would be great. I've talked to a few teachers and they all said don't expect anything til around June 1 - is that the overwhelming sentiment?

  1. It varies a lot.  Some positions are not filled until very late in the summer, or even after school starts.

  2. June 1 seems reasonable.  They can't wait too long or teachers start taking other jobs to support themselves. Also consider applying for summer positions to get in good with the school administrators.

  3. Yes, you may get a job offer any minute or maybe not until July or early August. It differs greatly. If you don't hear anything by June 1-15, call the district to remind them of your interest.

    Good luck.
