  1. My sister was a preemie and went through puberty very late compared to most girls.  I got my period at 12 years old and she got hers at 15.

  2. being premature doesn't really effect it.  each person goes through puberty at their own pace some girls will start puberty at 8 years old and others will not until they are teenagers.  I have a friend of mine who didn't get her first period until she was 17.  she swore that their must be something wrong with her but turns out she was just a late bloomer.  I also had a friend in grade school who wore a D cup had started her period in the 4th grade.

  3. premature babies catch up with full term babies by the time puberty comes around so maybe your friend is just a late bloomer.

  4. It doesnt matter if she is premature/not. it will happen

  5. Most premature babies catch up in their development with full term babies at age 2. Very premature babies may take longer but by school age they are generally on target. I doubt the prematurity has much to do with her lack of a period or puberty. I didn't get my period until I was almost 14 and I was over due!
