When do scholarships expire?

I want to go to college in the spring of '09, but the sticker price is pretty high. Is Aug '08 too early to start collecting scholarships and grants? I don't want these people taking their money back before I even set foot in the school.

No, it's not to early.  It might even be to late since most scholarships are awarded for the academic year.  Check with the college's financial aid office for institutional scholarships, and check http://www.finaid.org/scholarships/ for other scholarship suggestions.
