When do scottish students go back to school?

I heard it was 19th of August but no completely sure.

Different local authority regions have different start dates.  We go back on Monday but others I know were back today and some next Tues.  Some also have teacher in service days before the pupils return.  Check out the local authority websites for full details of each region and all school holiday dates for 2008 / 2009
