  1. When they get hungry.

  2. Mostly at night.

  3. The day-to-day life of sharks remains fairly mysterious. Most shark species are very difficult to study because they travel quickly over long distances, sometimes deep in the sea. They live in a world that is largely inaccessible to humans.

Sharks that feed on smaller prey typically eat a few times every day.

  4. Most sharks hunt agressively at night. During the day if they see an easy meal they'll take it. Great white sharks hunt during the day a lot. It really depends on what kind of shark you're taling about.

  5. I am in agreement with jim.

They eat when they are hungry or when the opportunity presents itself.

Being a shark (a critter who can go long times without eating) you take what you can get when you can get it.

It also likely depends on the species of shark.  Great white hunt mostly in day when they can see the silhoute of their prey against the sun. Hammerheads use a form of electromagnetic detection to find their prey so they dont need sunlight.
