When do shops in Bologna, Italy open?

Question

Has anyone been to Bologna, Italy? Can you please tell me when do the shops and restaurants open approximately?

I'm asking because we're planning to make a stop there in between Venice and Florence. We don't want to arrive too early if nothing is open. I remember waking up early to sightsee in Hong Kong but quickly found out it was pointless because barely anything is open before 10. Don't want to make the same mistake.

Shops in Bologna are allowed to open at 7.00 but most of them do not open before 9.00-9.30- only bakeries and cafes are open earlier very few of others.

Closing time is around 19.00-19.30 but they are allowed to keep open until 22.00 (and some do).

Shops are closed on sunday.

Many shops are closed and on monday morning.

Many shops close during lunchtime (12.30-15.30).

I'm italian, I live next venice and bologna...if you want to do shopping the shops open from 9-9.30 to 12.30 and from 3 (sometimes 3.30-4 in summer) to 7.30. Some big shop haven't the lunch break(es La rinascente, Coin, Upim , Benetton) if you want to go to the resturant are open from 11.30 to 3-3.30 (it tipends where are you) and from 6.30 . The bar( the cafe ) open at 7am and close from 8pm to 2 am..yuo can have the tipical italian breackfast with brioche and cappucino (remember that our coffee is different!!!is little...) by night you can go in a lot of places...the disco open at 9.30-10 to 2 am,but there are e lot of pub or little bar that can have more different name ... cafe,osteria(where you can eat),cantina(where you can drink our wines..)..all closed at 2 am (is the law)

Ps i suggest you to visit my city, Padua is at 1-2 hours to bologna,and is wonderful!!it is an university city(since 1222)you can see Prato della Valle (the biggest "piazza" in europe), L'Orto botanico, and a lot of shops!!!
