When do snakes go into hibernation or denning in South Jersey ?

  1. As they periods of sunlight decreases & the average air temp. start to drop wild snakes will start eating less & search for denning sites. This activity might have begun already or will start very shortly. By mid-Oct. almost all snakes will have gone to ground unless there's a real "Indian summer".
