  1. Our NCEA exams, which are the ones that actually count are in mid November. Each school usually gives practice exams during the middle of the year as well. Students have exams in the last 3 years of high school.

    In the last year of high school you usually take 5 classes and you'd have 4-5 exams, usually. In the 2 years before that you take 6 classes and have 6 exams. There are exceptions, because some classes are all internally accessed, which means no exams. Yes.

  3. At senior level they have major national exams in year 11, 12 and 13. They sit these usually around October/November. Part of may subjects is internally assessed throughout the year. Most would sit 4-6 subjects, but some maybe less.

    Many schools now have students sitting the Cambridge Exam which is actually an English qualification, a few schools do the international baccalaureate, but most do the NCEA New Zealand exams.
