They are underway right now- today is the first qualifier for the show jumping.

There's many different equestrian games in the olympics.  The eventing portion is over already.  They had two days of dressage (everyone only rode once, but it took two days to get through them all), one day of cross country, and one day of show jumping.  The Americans didn't do so very well... Amy Tryon fell off during the cross country so she got eliminated and didn't get to ride the show jumping day.  Becky Holder and Karen O'Connor both had their horses refuse during the Cross Country.  So we got a lot of penalties there.  Really Phillip Dutton and Gina Miles were the only two stars for the Americans.  Phillip's horse, Connaught, who is usually beautiful over fences (I've never seen him ever knock down a pole in show jumping), wasn't up to the challenge in China and although he did make it back for the individual jumping round, he already had so many penalties that he couldn't really possibly have won a medal.  Gina Miles, however, did great!  Her horse was fantastic in all of the events.  He did both of his show jumping rounds clean and they got up for the silver medal for individual eventing!  In team eventing, Germany won, Australia 2nd, and Great Britain 3rd.

The day after the eventing finished, they started the grand prix dressage.  Again, the Americans didn't do so well... well, not really bad, but not good enough to get a medal.  We ended up 4th.  Germany won gold, The Netherlands got silver, and Denmark got their first medal in dressage by earning the bronze.

We are now in the show jumping section of the olympics.  It started yesterday and will continue until next week.

If you have cable you can usually see a recap of the equestrian event of the day on the channel Oxygen at 6pm until 8pm eastern time.

go to msn's site for the olympics and you can watch them there because they aren't on the tv. go to msn.com then at the top click on the olympics link. then at the top of the next page click on the tv & online listings link. follow the directions from there. it will let you know when it will be on and you can watch it on this site.
