I am hoping to travel to Scotland this fall for some breathtaking pictures and want to make sure I do not get there too late. When do the leaves start changing and when is the best time, in the fall, to make the trip? August, Sept, or Oct? From what I hear, it is sunniest in September, so that might make for great pics too.

  2. Autumn.  Usually October sometime.

  3. the Fall is called autumn in the U K So that is th best time to visit

  4. Late September or early October would be best .Amongst the most scenic areas for trees are Perthshire and Argyllshire .

  5. October for sure.  The leaves are still fully green in September.  September is a sunny month normally with not much rain.

I would recommend late September because the sun is still high enough in the sky that you will have a reasonable window of opportunity to wonder about and take photos at sunset.

  6. AUTUMN starts around september/october in perthshire, which is where i have lived for the past 9 years. I would recommend the Bridge of Cally Hotel which is a 3 star inn with an amazing homely atmosphere. It has a website www.bridgeofcallyhotel.com Anyway there are beautiful walks in the area, fishing, shooting (the season opens august 12) and extras like horse-riding, all readily available. Just in the hotel garden is a long walk that takes you all over the beautiful moors with some stunning scenery. Hope I helped!
