Summer sales start on the 7th of July.

As already answered here above, official summer sales shall start in Milan on July 7th, 2007.

But.....but....but... a few shops (not all however...!!) will be selling at a some discounted price already around end June/early July.

However, even if  you can't postpone yr visit until 07/0, I guess

that, provided you keep yr eyes open, you'll have all the same a few good opportunities to buy somewhere cheaper than in normal times
