  1. 1 year and 20 lbs.

  2. front facing is not safe for babies unless there are one year of age AND [not OR] 20 pounds.

ie. if your 10 month old weighs 22 pounds, it does not mean they are ready for foward facing.

if your 1 year old weighs 18 pounds, they are not ready for foward facing.

they should be both when you decide to turn them around.

  3. When they're too big for the infant rear-facing seat (about 1 year or 22lbs)

  4. usually the recommended age is 1 yr and atleast 20 lbs.

  5. Whe the child is 1 year old AND 20 lbs. The child should be BOTH, not one or the other.

  6. When she exceeds the recommended weight for the carseat and when her legs look scrunched up because she is too tall.

  7. Ask your local health department.  We live in Kansas, and they told us that when she reached 22 lbs or became a year old.

  8. The law is 22 lbs and 1 year. It's much safer to keep your baby rear facing for over 2 years or the limits of the car seat, generally 30-35 pounds.

    Or google 'extended rear facing'.
