  1. yeah you dont tell you kid santa isn't real, you let them find out of their own, if they ask don't lie but, don't willingly tell them, they need something to beleive in, besides it what keeps some kids good. just tell them santas watching and the greedly little kid will shut up b/c it want presents lol

  2. You don't.  You tell them about the real Santa -- St. Nicholas.  Santa was a real being.  :)

There is no lie.  The only lie would be telling them that Santa isn't real.

As long as children know that the true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth, then all is well.  My kids, 9 and 6, believe in Santa and know that Christmas is a day to celebrate the birth of Christ.

  3. OK WHEN I WAS LITTLE MY PARENTS STOPPED THE WHOLE SANTA THING WEN I WAS IN 7TH GRADE. BUT I STOPPED BELIEVING IN LIKE 5TH GRADE SO JUST KEEP DOING IT TILL THEY STOP BELIEVING.

  4. Never... They find out on their own!

I never wanted to believe that he didn't exist. I was mad at my mom for telling me he didn't exist when I confronted her about it. I cried and cried.

I get mad at my oldest when he tells his younger siblings that he isn't real.

  5. I think around 10 is the best time to let them in on the secret. If you have younger children, the ones who already know the truth can have just as much fun helping keep Santa alive for their younger siblings.

  6. Let them find out on there own. Because if you tell them they will get mad at you or disapointed at you.And it might change how they feel about the holiday.

  7. let kids figure it out themselves...and believing in Santa fosters the imagination (something a kid should have)

    it's not really lying...

and sometimes parents don't even tell kids about Santa...they learn in school...

  8. when u never tell them about santa in the first place

  9. Santa is based on a real person, St. Nicholas... there are stories about the life of St. Nicholas all over the internet... and a good thing to read about and pass on to your kids.

This is what i did with my own kids... and they were quite pleased with the real story of St. Nick.

  10. never just let them figure it out. and pretend you still believe in it even when they are trying to figure it out

  11. I've never told mine he wasn't real they figured it out for themselves, quite funny really because at about 8 they started to question me about whether he was or not real, which I always replied it was up to them if they believed or not then by time the following year came they knew he was not for real but didn't want to let me know because they didn't want to spoil my disillusion !

  12. Kids usually figure it out about 10 years old.  Most kids figure it out all on their own.  No it's not mean, it's just having fun with the spirit of Christmas, in our house only the presents in the stockings were from Santa, the rest was from parents and everyone else.

  13. ASAP!

  14. i would just let them find out themself, probally like at 11.

  15. Kids are smart, eventually they figure it out themselves.  I dont recall being particularly traumatised about the discovery that Santa was a big fat fake.  They are KIDS, just let them be kids.  So no I dont think that its mean to lie to kids about Santa.  Anyway, its not lying its just called make believe...
