  1. It all has to do with global warming. And the growing world population.

Harvests are going bad because there is either too much sun for a long period  or too much rain after that. Like potatoes for instance and while in the mean time demand is greater than ever, prices will keep on rising. Land that usually contained crops are now being used for construction.

So that everyone has a place to live.Rain forest "need" to be cut down because everybody needs chairs and tables. And therefore the harmony of nature gets even more disturbed. Prices going down seems just to unlikely, they will only continue to rise..

Unfortunately this is a very serious long term problem and it will only get worse. Also because of the lack of natural resources ( like oil) will make it more expensive by transportation alone.

Sorry for any mistakes or spelling . Much love from Holland

  2. The food prices are rising because people have been investing too much in houses, cars, and factories.  And not investing enough in food, fertilizers, oil and gas production.

It's all a matter of supply and demand.  There are too many houses and large cars now.  And that's why many of them are going down in price.   But there isn't quite enough food, fertilizers, oil, and gas.  And that's why they keep going up in price.

Eventually the economy will balance itself out, if the government doesn't interfere too much.   If the government manages to prevent the house prices from going down.  Then some people might start putting their money towards building more houses again instead of producing more food.  Which would only prolong the current economic problems many people are having.

  3. My coffee has just gone down 33%. Instant coffee down 20%.

That's just two things I noticed this morning.

  4. Unfortunately rising food prices are just a symptom of a problem.  We are all connected, and we are not at all aware of just how connected we are.  As we "progress", through globalization and the internet, we see even on our level of perception, how tied we are.

Everyone knows about the butterfly effect, where we do not know where events originate.  We are being compelled by nature to come to harmony with its qualities. Until we see just how opposite we are, and correct ourselves, more things will pop up.  Even if we could solve the food problem, more "crises" will befall us.

If you are interested in learning more about why food prices are rising, here is an interesting blog by Kabbalist Rav Michael Laitman where he explains the root of the problem:
