  1. Something that might pertain to the topic at hand especially when talking about Puerto Rico. The island was actually formed from a volcano. The volcano is no longer active. But if you visit some of the national parks on the island there are tons of volcanic rocks and its actually pretty interesting!

  2. volcanoes dont "happen." they just exist. and there is a thing in the pacific ocean called "the ring of fire." look it up on google and you'll see where a lot of volcanoes are.

  3. Puerto Rico doesn't have volcanoes.

  4. Look at a geology section for more information on volcanoes.  Some of the Caribbean islands still have active volcanoes, Monserrat for one example.

Puerto Rico has no active volvanoes.

  5. Volcanoes do not give any indication when they are going to erupt. They simply do. Also, Puerto Rico was NOT created by a volcano and doesn't have any volcanoes.  The only Caribbean islands created by volcanos (and still have them) are Montserrat, St. Lucia, Martinique, St. Vincent and Saba.

  6. They "happen" whenever a hole is reached in the earth's crust and the magma is able to burst through...

There's plenty of volcanoes around the Caribbean region too.  Some are on land, while some others are in the waters around the islands.... One of the more devastating volcanoes right now in the Caribbean (in recent history) has been Soufriere Hills volcano in Montserrat.  In the mid-late '90s the volcano came back to life, buried, the island's capital, airport and northern portion of the island in ash and forced 2/3rds of the people to flee the island and mostly move to the UK.

Besides Montserrat there's a Volcano off *Grenada called "Kick 'em Jenny", one that has started off the eastern coast of *Trinidad which is bubbling up mud and stuff and actually creating what will one day be one of the newest islands in the Caribbean (as we speak.) *The Commonwealth of Dominica, the island of St. Vincent , as does the islands of Martinique + Guadeloupe....

  7. One  day  they  just  decide  to  "POP UP"   and  Kazaam..  they erupt....   ;)
