  1. mucus plugs are so different for everyone.

i lost some of mine 2 weeks ago, and a little bit more last week and i'm only 32weeks pregnant. They say that mucus plugs can rebuild themselves, so i'm not worried.

I'll worry if i loose some water or some blood.

there is no "normal" when it comes to mucus plugs. everyones look different, everyone's come out differently at different times.

doctors don't check the cervix until you are at least 38weeks.

unless you are going into labour early.

the pressure of your baby can push your v****a "out". i sounds weird i know, but it can cause the swelling and the discomfort. So can bladder infections and v****a irritations. Best to have a doctor take a look for you to make sure you aren't in any danger.

best of luck to you :)

  2. My little boy is due the day before your baby, and my doctor said she will start checking me at 36 weeks.  They usually start checking for dilation around when the baby reaches full term.  As for the mucus plug, I think it is different for everyone, so sorry I can't really answer that question.

  3. They wont check you for awhile.  Doctors normally check around 37-39 weeks.  Some wait until you are overdue.  There really is no point to the doctor checking because it doesnt mean anything.  You can be 2cm for a few weeks and still be overdue.  It just adds more to the whole guessing game.  Some women lose their mucous plug weeks before delivery (it does regrow), some lose it a few days/hours before, and some lose it right before they start pushing.  Or some women dont even realize when/if they even lost it.

As for your additional details tell your doctor how you feel like your sitting on your daughter.  They may or may not check you.  The v****a area is very very sensitive and with all the extra pressure and hormones it is normal for it to swell sometimes.  But also bring that up at your next doctors appointment too.

  4. im not sure where you are at but where i live in england they dont do an internal until you are past due or you really require one in canada they do it at about 38 weeks onwards and your plug can go at about 35 weeks ish mine went that early just depends but you will know when you lose it
