  1. When they are mathematically out of the race.


  2. As a Yankee fan who can't remember what it was like not seeing my team in the playoffs, this is kind of hard for me to answer. But there is a very big chance that this year the Yanks will not be playing in October. I am not quite ready to completely give up on this season yet. But with every Yankee loss and Rays/Sox win, I am slowly starting to give in. I think that if September rolls around and the Yankees are pretty much in the some spot they are now (trailing both teams by at least 5 games and stringing together more losses than wins), I might have to throw in the towel and start looking towards next season.

  3. I am not sure that the Phillies will make the playoffs this year, they are in a dog fight with the Mets and Marlins.

    As far as what point in a season I feel that they are not going to make the playoffs, it usually after August if they are 5-7 games back and not putting on that big push that true playoff contenders put on.  Sometimes it may be at about this point if I see no real success building I start to think that there is no way to expect playoffs.  

  4. about 2 weeks before seasons end is around the time i'd thow in the towel.  

  5. Gosh, this is a good question, and it really makes me think.

    2008 for the White Sox is a possibility. Right now, I think it could come down to the wire with the Twins now, and I really do not know whether or not they can pull it off. In order to make the playoffs, they have to win the division, there is no wild-card.

  9. Rangers can make it next year, with a couple of new signging and stuff. But right now, they arrent going to make it cuz of ANgels,Red Sox

  10. About 2/3 throught the year I know if the Cubs are making the playoffs.
