  1. Each time that I re-upped, the check was printed before I signed the contract. I was handed it immediately after signing.

I was so glad to see that the cap for SRB was raised to $90k. The most that I got was $60k.

  2. My husband reinlisted while deployed and we his bonus money on our bank within a week (i can't remember the exact amount of days but it was fast)

  3. When the re-enlistment package is put thru and he signs the papers it will take them about 5-7 days to process and deposit the money.  If you do not have direct deposit it takes about 14 days to get a hard check.

Re-enlistment bonus money is given at the time of re-enlistment and not 1/2 then 1/2 later.  Never heard of it taking a month.  I have dealt with over 12,000 re-enlistments in the past 10 years and never heard of one taking over 14 days.  They used to pay out re-enlistment bonus money by taking the money and splitting it up by how many years the re-enlistment was for...then on the anniversary of the re-enlistment the money was given.  Also, if he is deployed to a combat area the bonus money is federally tax free (not sure about state).  Social Security is taken out.  If he is stateside then tax is taken out before the money is given.

  4. It can depend on which branch he is in & where he is.  That can play a factor in time it takes.  It could be within a week or it could be a month or so later.  Remember it is taxed so you will not get the whole amount.  And with some reenlistment bonuses the whole amount is not received all at once.  1/2 is given now the other 1/2 paid over the next few years.
