When do you get your liquor??

Question

If I purchase liquor from the duty free shops aboard Royal Carribean, can I take it with me at time of purchase. Someone told me that the liquor is packaged and given to you at the end of your trip.

You receive it the night before disembarkation.  You are not allowed to consum this alcohol while onboard.  There is liquor that you can buy from the bars.

I go on 2-3 cruises a year, but I go on Holland America, if I purchase liquor from an Island and carry it onboard I take it to my stateroom.  If you purchase liquor from the ships duty free shops they will hold it until the last night of your cruise, they will bring it to your stateroom.  Hope this helps, Regards and have a great time on your cruise.  KG

If you purchase the liquor while in port at a shop, most likely they will take the liquor from you when you go back and board the ship. They will bag and mark the liquor with your name and cabin #. The liquor will be left at your cabin (possibly outside the door) on the last night of the cruise.

They do this so that they don't miss out on any liquor sales during the duration of the cruise.

I have seen on one occasion out of 7 cruises that the cruise line let you take it on board, but that was not the Royal Caribbean (sailed on 3 diff cruise lines).

WHen you debark the ship, your luggage is transported for you, including liquor. They packaged our liquor so it could put on a flight for us. There is a customs entry at port if you came from a foreign port...no fruit etc. and you are subject to import limits.

It is slightly different from duty free on an airline.

You get it when you buy it and can bring it right aboard.
