I was browsing a flower website and there was a "new baby flowers" category. When are you supposed to give those? When someone finds out they're having a baby? Or when they're in the hospital w/ the baby?

  1. You send them when the baby is born  :)

  2. I think the next day after its birth?

  3. Flowers should be sent at the birth of the baby.  If you know that the mother is admitted to the hosptial, then you may choose to send them there.  She should be there for 48 hours under normal conditions, and possibly 72 hours with a C-section.  If you learn about the birth a day or so after the baby is born, it is best to have them delivered to the family's home four days after the birth date.

If you are a close family member, you may choose to deliver them yourself at your first meeting of the new baby.

Did you know that each month has a special flower...like a birth stone?  This is a neat touch when giving flowers or a baby gift.  See all of the birth month flowers and some great baby gift ideas here:

Oh, and be sure to keep allergies in mind when selecting flowers :)
