When do you or your child start school this year?

I live in NY, my two oldest children start school tomorrow. My brother and his family live in Alaska and they started about two weeks ago. But in Alaska I guess school ends earlier than in NY. We ended around June 24th.

So when do or did you start school and when is it usually out for the summer?

Someone told me that in California they have school for two weeks then off for one week?

I started school August 24, and I get out something like June 6th I think. (I'm from Atlanta)...

We started today. I know some states start in late August, and have Labor day as a break, but go back to regular classes today. We are usually out around June 16.

I don't know about CA. It is a big state, so every spot is different.
