The economy is falling apart and may not recover for quite awhile, but when do you predict even the slightest improvements?

And don't even try and tell me "we have to be in a recession in order for it to end" with gas 4 dollars a gallon. please

  1. I'm betting that it will be 2 to 4 years before things start to turn around.  We are exporting billions of dollars to Iraq right now...even if we stop today, it would be months before this money can be redirected into our economy.

  2. At least 6 years, possibly 15-20.

We have not even got past the tip of the iceberg.

  3. Are you one of those "Whiners?" that the McCain camp calls people complaining about the economy?

Mort Zuckerman said we're in the 4th inning of the recession.

most experts agree- recovery around fall 2009

  4. I will be looking to invest when the Dow falls to 10,500.   I think if that happens particularly if there is a day where the Dow falls over 500 points then we will be at or close to a bottom.   Then the economy will begin to improve in about 6 months or so.  Right now, there is no way to say and likely more bad news that will be needed to digest particularly with banks and oil prices.  It also depends on what happens with Iran.  If it is bombed then all bets are off due to the effect on oil prices.

  5. Whenever our next President is a Democrat, because all the Republicans seem to care about is Foreign Affairs

  6. My stock broker predicts 2-4 more quarters like we are in now. He does not call this current economic state a recession, however. He says it is because of greed and it will regulate itself very soon.
