  1. It will take at least three to four years. Isiah getting fired and being restrained from the team was a step in the right direction.

The problem with them, is player personel. They don't have all the right players that suit D'Antoni's coaching style and that normally takes one or two years in itself to fix.

This rebuilding job won't happen overnight due to their salary cap issues.

  2. who told you the jets were good???

  3. Knicks returnin to NBA prominence? No time soon!!!!!!

  4. We should be an elite team by 2012-2013.   I guarantee you.   Look at all the moves we've made already.

    Fired Isiah

    Hired D'antoni

    Drafted Danilo Gallinari

    Signed Chris Duhon

We've made alot of progress just this year.    After we get rid of Zach and the older players for picks and expirings we'll have some youth and talent to entice a FA in 2010.    We can build around the star and become title contenders right away.

If not, then we just keep building until we're good.

  5. It's hard to say, but we're on the right road. We'll definitely be better this season, might be able to get the 8th seed on the playoffs. In 2010 Lebron is probably coming, so after that we'll definitely be good.

  6. As soon as they get rid of eddy curry and stephon marbury they'll be good

  7. Okay to answer your initial question, I want to be optimistic because I am a die hard Knicks fan... I think we can win as many as 38 games next year and sneak into the playoffs but being prominent might take us up until the 2010 season, and not because of us "pursuing" LeBron James. As of today we have 16 players under contract __ of those players need to be traded/bought out/convinced to retire(In Jerome James' Case), etc.

A quick fix for any good team is defense and even though everyone says we don't have any defense on this team, we actually have many great individual defenders (Jarred Jefferies, Wilson Chandler, Mardy Collins, David Lee, and Renaldo Balkman)

As you can see most of those are bench players with the exception to Lee (On most nights)

If Donnie Walsh being the great basketball mind that he is can get rid of Zach Randolph, Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, Jerome James, Quentin Richardson, and Malik Rose we could be in very, very good shape. (It would be a heads up move to package Malik Rose and David Lee for Ron Artest, we get what we want in a exceptional defender in the last year of his contract and we unfortunately get rid of a great up and coming player that will command a lot of money in David Lee (money that we need to "save") also this trade makes perfect sense because Ron Artest has fallen out with the Kings management and Malik Rose is in the last year of his contract, salaries also match...)

Okay but back to the task at hand...All this team lacks is chemistry and with those players that I mentioned above out of the picture we would be rolling.

    Projected Roster:

    PG: Chris Duhon/Nate Robinson/Anthony Roberson

    SG: Jamal Crawford/Mardy Collins/

    SF: Wilson Chandler*/Danilo Gallinari/_________

    PF: David Lee/__________/__________

    C: Eddy Curry/__________/__________

This starting line up doesn't consist of many household names but Eddy Curry, David Lee, and Jamal Crawford are very well known... Chris Duhon is a pure point guard that can get the ball to were players "like it" and Wilson Chandler is THE FUTURE of the Knicks this kid is unbelivable if you watched his last 6 or so games last season this kid is a poor mans LeBron if we let him develop there is no doubt he will be a 20 Point 6 Rebound 3 Assist 1Block/1 Steal a game guy...

    2008/2009 Win Total : 38 (8th Seed)

    2009/2010 Win Total : 46 (6th Seed)

    2010/2011 Win Total : 51 (4th Seed)

Contender Years can be as close as 2011/2012 !!!
