When do you think babies get their souls?

Do babies get their souls when they breathe the first breath of air? Is it when the sperm and egg meet? Or is it sometime in between? Please don't answer if you don't believe babies have souls...

Who wouldn't believe a baby has a soul..... I believe as soon at there heart begins to beat.... which is within the first month of conception.

well, as far as i can remember from our Christian Living class, one gets a soul at the moment of conception (the fertilization of an egg by a sperm at the beginning of pregnancy)

I don't think the baby gets the soul I believe its the other way around, and our soul gets the body at conception.

Babies get their souls as they come out, but then they lose them as they become adults just like the rest of us.

From the moment of conception a baby has a soul.

If you were to say baby's don't have a soul until they are "born", what if they are stillborn? How could a stillborn baby have never had a soul?

as soon as they are created from God they have their souls. why wouldn't anyone believe they don't have souls? weird.

well if you believe in god then you get your soul the moment the sperm fertilizes with the egg

I believe its when they take that first breath of air, just like when you die and that last breath of air leaves the body.

I believe that babies get their soles as soon as they become babies! Including the part where they are just an embryo/blastocist/etc.

As soon as the sperm and the egg become one-- that's when life starts.

I believe the soul is present when life begins, and I believe life begins at conception.  So, a baby would get it's soul at conception, or as soon as the egg is fertilized by the sperm.

I don't know for sure.  Since I don't, I think it's wisest to assume that it's at conception and that "personhood" begins at that moment.

Personally I think that everything has a 'soul'.

Every single cell in our body, every egg, sperm, hair, rock, piece of granola has a 'soul'.

When the egg is fertilised the soul matures, and learns something new, as it does for the rest of it's life.

The Gaia is everything, and we are all part of her.
