Just to throw these out there, a scientist named Barrett Peter suggests that within the next 100 years, the human race shall become extinct by the at the rate that our earth's destruction is going. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. When do you think it is our turn to get wiped out like the dinosaurs?

  1. The answer is any day now it could happen any time.People predicting the future don't know what they're talking about.Even as their predictions fall by the wayside never coming to pass. It's no problem for them. They just start all over. They can't see how ridiculous they are.

  2. Some humans are due for extinction right now. e.g. George W. Bush!

  3. anything is possible, it also depends on your beliefs. i think we all know what christians. but scientistis believe that we are going to reach a point when earth cant support us all and we all go to war, then we will be reduced to a couple of million people and that number is going to be constant for ever.

    true story

for example there this island were only small animals lived then a couple of deer were introduced by some people to hunt for fun. when the scientist came back the island was filled with millions of them! than after studying them the scientist left and came back a couple of yeaars later.

he was surprised at what he saw: thousands and thousands of dear skeloton and only 300 (i think) were still alive.

the deer had depleted all of the grass, wich was not able to regenerate to feed the masses. 300 was the ideal number for the island to maintain.

either that is going to happen to us or a big meter is going to destroy us. if we avoid disasters then we have until the sun dies out on us. either way we are all doomed

  4. Humans will cause their own extinction. I guess in 400 years. Very interesting topic...

  5. All species will become extinct at some point - in fact 99.99% of species are extinct right now.

    Humans will do the same.

The more complex a species is, the shorter a life span it will have. As we are very complex creatures (compared to say, lichens or jellyfish) that means our species won't last a very long time.

The average lifespan of a species is 4 million years. That is roughly where we are now.

Clearly we don't have long to go.

It's clever to guess 100 years or 400 years, because of course by then we'll all be dead anyway and won't be able to check if you were right or not -yet at the same time it sounds dramatically close and urgent so people will take it seriously

I'd say it will be sometime between next Tuesday and 200 000 years.

  6. The Mayan calendar=end of the world thing is nonsense.  If the Mayans knew so much their calendar would have ended a few hundred years ago when they themselves were wiped out.

The human species will almost certainly become extinct at some point in the future.  We humans are animals.  We have requirements for survival.  If those requirements disappear and we aren't able to adapt to overcome these changes, then we will cease to exist.

Will in happen in 100 years?  It's possible, but Barrett Peter isn't privy to any information unavailable to everyone else.  He's just making an educated guess based on the data he has on hand.  (I tried to find out what his opinion is, but my searches were fruitless.)

In my opinion--barring natural catastrophe--overpopulation will be what kills us.

  7. i say that we could not get extinct but a lot of us are going to die

  8. We're living on borrowed time as it is...

  9. Depends on whom you ask which reality will be changed and when. Global, climatic and societal changes are underway at present. Planetary extinction won't happen anytime soon but there will be another 'reset' take place like in the past. The great deluge recorded in the Bible and elsewhere is the most common reference to the last 'reset'.

Because I have had certain experiences, have been in contact with numerous gifted people now living and am well read on the subject. I'll give only brief references and dates that may be attributed to one or more events.

Let us say that perhaps there may be many millions of deaths around 2012 the real change will be in how humans view themselves, a total change of psyche. I am withholding comment on the how for the present.

Study the Prophecies of the following Hopi (tribe), Casey, Nostradamus, and St. Malachy to build a timeframe for events. If you look long enough, you will have the personal experiences and meet the right people to fill in the rest.

Along with climatic cataclysms, the greater global community will start to change around 2010 - 2013. The nations with less reliability on technology will be less affected however with the scarcity of resources they will need to return to the old ways or perish because they will no longer be receiving the hand outs from other countries.

There are very few predictions that mention world governments or any organized civilization beyond 2024 (look to the Bible Codes for these). At this point survivors have returned to the old ways, found alternative energy and are no longer dependent on any organized government -or religion.

If you don't want to know any more this would be a good time to stop reading.

In or around the year 2036, but I have a feeling it will have little or no meaning except for the few religions that are the keepers of the records as it was since the beginning of time time, the final warning of the cataclysm to come. Final preparations will be made at this time for the survival of the species. 'Look up', the scientists already know what is coming.

'The Reset Year' is 2039. See the last sentence in the following paragraph. Those that have not been 'One' spiritually and with the earth, will not have moved to the safe places on earth, cannot make peace with the earth and have never learned to live with her, will perish.

The good part from the Cosmic perspective is that by the year 2060 the earth is green and beautiful again. Small villages of people are on the surface and the predominant religions are more of the Earth-Mother-Nature style, fundamentalism is dead and people have had to resort to Druid Mother-Earth style Magic using the remaining vortexes(Hint, location hint).

Amazing, I got all the way through that without mentioning alien once. What is an Alien, a Mexican who moves to America? How about an American Black that moves to Africa?  Would earth's ancestors be considered Aliens? What if people of earth did not originate on earth, would we be the Alien? So when you find out that there are Aliens and some of them actually want to help us avoid oblivion, be very careful whom you are calling the Alien.

For further readings into the far future I have only one book to suggest. Let me preface by saying I do not agree with the author on many accounts, I reserve only my harshest and most vindictive words for his politics, but I believe he has chronicled the most accurate rendering of the far future.

ref. "The UltimateTime Machine" by Joseph McMoneagle

Far more than you asked for but why take life in half-measures? If you study the those entities given above there are several overriding themes that make what we consider the end of the world sound like just the changing of the seasons in lifespan of the earth. They are also the key to survival it the turmoil to come.

    1. Respect and care for the earth and each other and learn to live off what the earth provides and no more.

    2. We are 'all' and 'everything is connected'.

    3. The 'Soul is Eternal' we never die.

It has been said: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away."
