  1. I started driving 2 days after I came home by approval of my doctor. My husband had to work and my baby was in the NICU. That was six weeks ago (almost seven). When I had my son I drove the day I came home by approval of my doctor, my son was also in the NICU. I guess that it all depends on situation and your doctor.

  2. Well you may think I'm weird but it has been true for every person that i know that has had a baby. For the first 40 days you aren't supposed to do anything and i mean ANYTHING no cleaning dishes vacuuming washing picking up around the house nothing you should let your body heal and eve if you feel okay before the 40 days you still should stick with out doing anything. It helps you heal as best as you can because of all the trauma your body went through and if you are breast feeding it will help your body produces. Take care and congrats on your bundle of joy. One of my sister in laws didn't listen and ended up saying she felt fine so she was out going shopping and cleaning after like 3 weeks and ended up with a large odd piece of skin dangled where they did the c-section. I felt bad but hey they warned her. ;(

  3. I also had a C-section with my son 7 months ago. Before you drive check with your insurance company as many won't cover you in an accident until 6 weeks after your C-section unless you have a letter from your doctor stating your fit to drive. I felt fine to drive pretty much straight away, but left it until 3 weeks after my son was born and got a doctors letter. Not long after my c-section, someone told me in the car (as a passenger) to slam my foot down on the floor as if to brake suddenly, and if it didnt hurt or feel too uncomfortable, I should be fine to drive.

  4. I had 2 c sections and recovery if different for everyone.  You should wait until you are getting around painlessly.

  5. My doctor said 2 weeks. And then drive with someone at first till you are sure you are ok to drive alone. You should not do any heavy lifting or exercises or be too active for the first 6 weeks.  After that take it easy and see how you feel. Do start doing abdominal exercises after 6 weeks to get your tummy back in shape. Just make sure you don't over stress your tummy muscles while they are sore.
