  1. I don't think they are going to collect any.

In Islam relegion, we have something called "Zakah or Zakat"

Zakah = we have to pay around 2.5 % of our money to certin people e.g poor ppl, poor relative, ppl who just converted to islam...etc. there is an organazation who take that money and spread it to those ppl

for example, u have 50,000$ and u started a project...after one year ur balance became 150,000$

you have to pay 2.5% of the 50,000$ only

which means you have to pay for the amount of money that you've owned for one year

the next year you gonna pay 2.5% of the 150,000$

no body force you to pay the Zakah but you should take the intiative. it's one of five basic rules of Islam.

maybe some ppl are not paying..... which makes them bad muslims.

  2. i think the way Saudi government wants always their citizens happy

and mostly they want collect tax from Saudi people but they can add any expenses or taxes to non-Saudis

  3. Well, the gov't owns a lot of the services, like the utilities, train, Saudi Airlines, etc., so in a way they are getting a 'tax' from the people.  You can't avoid buying from the gov't here.  So, I don't think they will start charging taxes any time soon.  Like Just Me said, I don't think most of the people here understand the concept of taxes.

  4. If I pay taxes, that means that I have a voice in the government, which they don't like.

If I pay taxes, that means I can hold them accountable for not doing their job, which they don't like.

Right now, we have free Education, Medical care, Roads and Highways.  Thats why we cannot blame the government for anything wrong they do Because basically they can tell us to shut up!!

  5. Well economic crisis is global. Saudi government also needs enough funds to improve and maintain there infrastructure, military and civilian security, medical facilities, education, etc. which are being benefited by both their citizens, visitors and foreign contract workers alike.

  6. when the pope converts to islam !!!

i aint paying nothing to full house of yahood pockets. they are already taking out the oil OFF OUR LAND !!

its in direct taxe. now they can shut up and have it.

its a bless from god since we are the land of prophet Mohommad and Abrahim

  7. .....when the govt. becomes poor but I doubt it, as time goes by it became more richer and powerful not only in the middle east but also in the world....

.....Taxes are collected from individual people to build infrastructure projects, to finance institutions, to create business establishments, etc. because the govt itself could not find where to get the money to finance those things, thats why they are implementing taxes to all its citizens.....Saudi Arabia is a monarchial form of govt. ruled by a king and is filthy rich.....There is no need to collect tax from people.....

  8. Saudi government is collecting taxes long time ago visit

  9. They certainly should... that'd give me another reason to stay outta there!

  10. In 5 to 10 year, bases on national and international economy.

  11. i don't think they'll do that. there is no need to do that.

  12. I dont think there will be taxes any time soon. There should be taxes, but I dont think they want taxes for two reasons :

1- Taxes means political participation, and transparency, and accountability, which are values that seem to be coming, especially with all the inflation, but not just yet.

2- People themselves dont really understand the concept, and benefits. They ask why tax us when the government has enough money?
