When do you think the world will wake up to the issues of global climate change?

Global warming aside (Some people do not believe in it because of propoganda spouted by big pollution companies)

It is pretty obvious that we are going through a global climate change that could bring disaster to millions of people.

How long do you think it will take before governments around the world will wake up to this fact? Will it be too late? What do you think should be done?

  1. when it is too late

look at the present trend here in Answers

Don`t make a mistake Governments know exactly what the score is,more than anyones else,

But their concern is not for the well being of the masses.

they are more interested in mass control.

And  80% of those appear to be resistant or unsympathetic towards nature

    it is very depressing.

It is nothing but attacks on the credibility of the problems

and hardly any suggestions for positive solutions.

As if everybody is hard headed that anything could be wrong or that we should or even could ,do something about it .

I really do not know why this is called the category of Environment any more .It is more like an opium den

Those who defend Nature have become a public enemy.

    under constant attack

Our fate is painted as beyond our control in the hands of the Gods .

Have we become drugged sacrificial victims that are led up the steps towards the alter.

    Sometimes it seems like that

But then it is Monday morning right now

Maybe i am not seeing it clear

  2. People will realize

    when the sea levels rise

    engulfing there whole entire CITY.

Finally realizing they should have done something sooner..

they go and build a new house.. Environmentally designed.. using power tools.

    F***ing Retards.

Personally, i think people are way too stubborn to change their way of life for the sake of the planet.

Mediums and Physics say that we only have about 100 years more, then the planet will breakdown over its self.

  3. people do realize it but they think they are only one person and cant make a difference. television is making people believe that not many people are doing something to stop global warming, so they either think its pointless or they donut want to be an outcast.

the world has woken up, they are just pretending it doesnt exist.

  4. The whole world is aware of climate change due to AGW.  The only hold-out is the US!

  5. I will probably wake up when you environmental supporters at least admit that you people have also twisted some facts and used propaganda.  When both sides finally admit to it, we can finally get the real facts of the situation straight and get cracking on the real problems.  The current environmental data and science is nothing but propaganda from both sides and I want a clearer less bias field called science.  When that happens wake me up.

  6. I hope now. This past winter where I live was almost like a normal spring...and now that its spring it feels like its almost winter. Weird....but yeah a normal person does not have to listen to a scientist or a pollution company or whoever....we go by what we see and feel. And we can see and feel a difference.

  7. It sounds like you've been brainwashed.  THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING!!!

  8. The world is well aware of it.  Even the current Administration in the USA is aware of it.  The current Administration launched several anti-science initiatives including the one against effort to control the contribution of industrial CO2 to warming. Mainly the White House aides edited key scientific reports that we as taxpayers paid for. In other words, they stole from us. When Bush said he was wrong in calling AGW unproven he had already set up the "Heartland" group to dispute IPCC. You won't find a single reputable scientist on it, but they add to the disinformation pool. Condaleeza Rice made many speeches last year raising alarm as to the seriousness of human caused Global Warming and the need for immediate action. Unfortunately she said the same thing about WMD in Iraq, so her opinion is not worth any more than Bush's.

We are coming up on two centuries of scientific study of the anthropogenic global warming issue. We have all of that accumulated data. Despite the political roadblocks thrown up by the executive branch (like requiring the EPA to "stand down" from its mission) the scientists have continued to collect data, which is most of what scientists do. After Bush's policy reversal last year it is no longer a hanging offense to publically discuss global warming (at least officially) so a few policy recommendations have seen the light of day. I don't see anything that won't right itself when another Administration takes office, regardless of who they are. As long as there is no break in the data science will be OK. The sad and ironic part is that Bush took this stance originally to pander to the fundamentalist Christians, who are now somewhat horrified at the Stalinist reduction of science policy to a barely medieval level.

The question now, is whether the damage done by this 8 year delay can be reversed.

  9. People deal with problems that affect them personally.  Lohachara island, in India's part of the Sundarbans where the Ganges and the Brahmaputra rivers empty into the Bay of Bengal was among the most recent to feel the effects of a changing world.  The people (estimated population was 10,000) moved off the island because of rising waters.  There was no outrage or political protest.  They handled the problem without trying to make the whole world feel sorry for them.  They didn't try to make a buck or get political power as a result.  But there are scheming people that will try to profit from their misfortune.

Do you want to know how to make things better?  Volunteer your time to a worthy charity; give your means to a cause (with a low- or zero-administrative-cost overhead) that will make a difference in the lives of people that are suffering.

Look to governments for help?...are you kidding?  They cost more than they can actually provide.  Do you think they can turn back the sea or stop the motion of the earth?  Politicians use the misfortunes of others to get themselves re-elected, and then they use your money for their own comfort.

  10. The Earth has been Cooling and warming in 'natural cycles for millions of years with.....and without....man.

Propaganda spouted by folks like Gore who are making $$MILLIONS by scaring the masses...... is now being exposed as lies and distortions.

Thank goodness that there are honest and educated people out there to curb this 'man-did-it' nonsense!

  11. when the situation gets reaaaaaaaallly..critical.....and that's the time where it is no use regretting if what we have done..

  12. The government already is aware of global warming. They just refuse to acknowledge the truth of the matter. The fact that the ice caps are melting and causing the water level of the oceans to rise, which is causing the wind currents to shift means absolutely nothing to the government. And us talking about it won't really change much because we are stuck in the blind site of the the governments vision. They care nothing for the public if the general public is satisfied.
