When do your wisdom teeth stop moving?

My dad has a tooth poking through his lower gum just beneath a moler. He's 38 years old and didn't notice it until a couple years ago. It doesn't hurt, but his teeth are starting to move a bit and go crooked. His wisdom teeth were never removed. Could they still be pushing his teeth around? It there maybe a tooth that was never discovered still growing and about to push out of his gum?

  1. Never, teeth move throughout your entire life. This is why many people have impacted wisdom teeth and do nothing about them until their 40s when the teeth start to move into other teeth and cause damage to the other teeth as well as pain and infections. Many people notice as they age that their front teeth will often crowd together or gap or tilt. Majority of people experience some movement over time. The wisdom teeth will also crowd his other teeth foward in an attempt to make room for them to erupt. At this point that is not going to happen. Most likely, his wisdom teeth are impacted into his 2nd molars and could be causing damage. He needs to see an oral surgeon.
