  1. He tells it to the little boy in his sleep. and then the next day the boys go and try to retrieve the ball.

  2. He tells it to Benny in a dream when Smalls nails his stepdad's signed ball over the fence with "The Beast" on the other side. The reason he says this is first because of the fact that they need to get that ball back before Smalls' stepdad comes sback from his business trip and second because Benny is the person in the group who everyone knows is destined for greatness. They all play baseball for fun and to kill time but Benny plays for passion and love of the game. So, the next day Benny ends up jumping the fence and getting the ball. Great movie, I highly reccomend it. Hope I could be of service ;)

  3. It's when the kid dreams that he sees Babe Ruth and Babe Ruth convinces him he should go across the fence and get the ball.

  4. When that one kid (I can't remember his name.. the really good baseball player one.) is dreaming in his sleep

They have to get the ball back from the other side and after they've tied everything he knows he needs to hop the fence and face the dog, and he's scared to do it. So Babe Ruth comes to him in a dream and tells him that....

Don't you remember? When he comes out of the closet

  5. He say this in the movie so that the Boy will take a chance and do something great, many people can do something great but are they do want to take a chance
